The food is good and satisfying, though it is fair to say that the true star of Cafe Lotus is the setting itself.
And that is perfectly fine.
Not every restaurant has to compete for culinary perfection when it already offers one of the most memorable dining atmospheres in Ubud.
Dining With the Goddess Saraswati
Cafe Lotus sits beside Pura Taman Saraswati, one of Ubud’s most beautiful temples.
In the evenings, traditional Balinese dance performances often take place on the temple stage across the pond, bringing music, movement, and mythology into the scene.
